Feb 23 - Villa el Salvador - Happy Birthday Mike!

Hello All,

19 YEARS OLD!!

It is crazy how fast my birthday has come! And for my birthday I get P DAY!!! WOO HOO!

This week has been awesome! A bunch of kids from the ward in Villa are getting their mission calls. One named Joshias Espinoza is going to Bogota Colombia Tuesday and Christofer Fajardo got his call last night and is going to Medellin Colombia in June. The Lord is truly hastening his work in these last days.

This week I have officially been in the field for 8 months and it has gone by so fast. We are already practically in March! Somehow the sisters in the ward found out that it was my birthday and so here comes the cake! :)

Me and Elder Rosado are working the best we can and we are truly seeing miracles. We have two investigators named Carmen (35) and her daughter Danitza (9). Every time when we start the lesson Carmen tells her kids ¨Cmon kids we are going to talk to God, close your eyes and fold your arms.¨ I love how humble the people are here and how faithful and obedient they are. She has a house as big as my room, but she doesn't complain. She is just grateful for the family that she has and for all of the blessings that she has received. Awesome!

I love you guys soo  much and a lot. Continue to do well. Mom, good luck in your new calling and I know that you will be fine. Dad, also good luck with your scouts. Patience is a virtue ;)

Much Love,

Elder Johnson

Feb 16 - Villa el Salvador

Hello All,

This week was awesome!

We had a baptism of Jhonan Rivera. It was such an awesome experience and now his whole family are members. Now his whole family (6) are members, and also are all recent converts. It is so awesome the focus in the mission that we have to bring families into the gospel. We now have a goal to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead for his family. We hope to bring his whole family with us :)

We were also able to go to the temple with Sabina. She was baptized in December and now was able to be baptized in the temple for her parents. She is awesome and continues to be a faithful member in the church. I know that she will always be a good example to her family and all of the members of the church here in Villa el Salvador.

That is awesome that Zoe got a mission call to Cambodia! Crazy! I know that it will be such a great experience for her. Also, crazy that Miles is leaving. Just like you said, I know that he will be an awesome missionary and will give it his all. I love the mission and it is so cool to see so many people leaving. It truly is a testimony that the Lord is hastening his work in these days.

I recieved the package from the ward last week and it was awesome! tell them thanks from me :)

I love you guys and will continue to give it all i got here in Peru. Can't wait for my birthday next week!! We will see how it goes here ;)

Much Love,

Elder Johnson Baby

Feb 10 - Villa el Salvador

Hello All,

TRANSFERS!

Yesterday we had transfer and..... I´m in the exact same area with my same companion another transfer haha. So we will just carry on as normal, another six weeks in Villa el Salvador! Yaa!

We have another baptism planned for this Saturday. His name is Jhonan Rivera and he is 22 years old. His family are recent converts and after he is baptized his whole family will be members. We are already planning to go the temple with his whole family to be able to do vicarious work for his ancestors. It is awesome to have that as the focus here in the mission. We have a goal to go the temple every Thursday bringing converts to be able to help them stay firm in the gospel. The temple is truly the key in retention.

[Dad & Mom met Veronika on Facebook this week] Haha ya Veronika is a returned missionary who lives in our ward. She served in the Peru Trujillo mission in 2002. We have been working to help her mom come to church, but she is a bit tough. I traded her my Preach My Gospel in English and she gave me the boat (the picture that is attached). She is awesome!

I love you guys so much and hope that you continue to do well without me :) I cant wait for Mother's Day when we will be able to communicate via Skype again. Keep going strong and being an example to everyone around you.

Much Love,

Elder Johnson Baby

Feb 2 - Villa el Salvador

Hello All,

This week was awesome! We had a baptism and the work is being hastened here in Peru Villa el Salvador. The kid's name is Maykol and he is 10 years old. Already he has read all of the Book of Mormon. Crazy!! He is such a good kid. We baptized his grandma in December and now we are going to try and help his parents. Keeping the work focused on the family!

I am continuing to do my best here in Villa el Salvador and will give it my all this week because next week is cambios (transfers). We will see if i am going to stay here or go to another site in Peru. We will have to see. I hope that I will be able to stay because I love the people here. The ward is awesome and it will be really hard to go. Whatever happens, it is the will of the Lord.

Here in Peru I'm not Elder Johnson haha. In these parts I'm know as Elder Johnson Baby. haha So funny! Since the beginning no one could ever pronounce my name and one day one person said Oh, like Johnson Baby Shampoo. Haha ever since then it has stuck. Elder Johnson Baby at your service :)

Also the weather here is killer. For the first time in the mission I'm starting to get sunburned haha. As you can see in the photo, I got some pretty bad tan lines. Still a little weird to be sunburned in January, but I guess I'm getting used to it.

I love you guys so much and keep doing well. There isnt a day that goes by that I dont pray for you guys. I know that if you guys continue keeping close to the gospel and sharing it with others you will be blessed.

Much Love,

Elder Johnson Baby
